Return Conditions Guide
Return Condition Guide
We want you to feel good about choosing a Baum guitar.
That’s why we offer Try it at home.
You should be able to experience the instrument in your own space — not just imagine it.
But every guitar we ship is brand new or like-new condition.
So when it comes back, it needs to feel that way too.
This guide explains how we assess returns.
Clearly. And fairly.
The simple rule
You can try the guitar. And take your time (45 days) to try it.
Just keep it in the same condition you received it until you're sure.
If it comes back as new → full refund
If it doesn’t → we adjust
1. Fair use — full refund
This is what Try it at home is for.
You’ve handled the guitar with care.
You’ve played it a little. Just enough to know.
There are no visible signs of use.
That means:
- No scratches or marks
- No wear on hardware or finish
- All packaging and accessories included
→ You get a full refund
2. Minor wear — partial deduction
Sometimes a guitar comes back with small signs of handling.
Nothing serious. But enough that it’s no longer “brand new”.
In those cases, we apply a fair deduction.
Typical examples:
- Light surface swirls in the finish
- Small marks near the jack or strap button
- Very light handling marks on hardware
→ Deduction: typically 10%
Why?
Because we need to:
- Rework the guitar in our workshop
- Replace strings and reset it
- Sell it as B-stock or demo
We always keep this fair and proportionate.
3. Misuse — return declined
If a guitar shows clear signs of use, we can’t accept it as a return.
This is when it’s been used beyond trying it at home.
Examples:
- Visible scratches or dents
- Noticeable wear from playing
- Signs of regular use
- Missing parts or modifications
→ The return will be declined
→ The guitar will be sent back to you
How we assess
All returns are inspected in our workshop in Aarhus.
We look at:
- The finish (especially on gloss guitars)
- Hardware and contact points
- The overall feel — new or used
- Whether everything is included
Why this matters
We’re a small team building guitars in limited numbers.
When a guitar comes back with wear, we can’t sell it as new again.
That means time, cost, and a lower resale value.
We keep our prices fair by handling returns fairly.
