Description
A classic shape. A fresh perspective.
The Celestor™ is our interpretation of one of the most influential electric guitar designs ever made.
Our founder Morten Bau built his first S-style guitar back in 1990, long before Baum became a brand. That familiar shape, feel and sound have been part of his journey as a guitar builder ever since.
But when we developed the Celestor, we didn't want to make just another S-type. We wanted to take everything we love about the classic design and give it our own character.
Now, the Celestor joins our VEGA Series.
The slim mahogany body offers warm resonance and comfortable balance, while the satin-finished roasted maple neck, Modern C profile and 12" radius rosewood fretboard make it feel natural from the first chord to the last solo.
At its heart are our Goldsound® Sonar™ VEGA single-coil pickups, built with Alnico V magnets for clarity, definition and dynamic response.
This style is available in HSS configurations. The Celestor covers everything from bright, glassy cleans and funky rhythms to warm blues, crunchy rock and expressive leads. The HSS version adds our Royal™ VEGA humbucker for extra punch and bite in the bridge position.
Our Baum Performer™ 2-Point Tremolo adds smooth, expressive movement, while 18:1 Performer Tuners offer precise tuning adjustments.
The VEGA Series follows a simple idea: make a proper Baum more accessible by simplifying how we produce it, not by losing the design, playability and sound that make it special.
Every Celestor VEGA is designed in Denmark and goes through final inspection, setup and play-testing by our team in Aarhus.
Whether you're playing clean, loud, melodic or somewhere in between, the Celestor is made to move with you.
Familiar enough to love. Different enough to remember.

BAUM QUALITY CONTROL
Every Baum goes through several quality control points. The final step happens in our Danish Custom Shop where each instrument is personally inspected and tested by our guitar tech team of professional musicians. We’re very picky and go over every detail and part.
Our process:
-
Delivery inspection: Each guitar is unpacked, examined, and approved for build quality and finish.
-
Hardware & electronics: Each instrument gets the Baum Premium Set-up. Read more about that.
-
Performance test: Finally, our set-up team play and fine-tune the guitar to ensure it meets Baum’s tone and feel standards.
Nothing leaves our hands until it matches our quality for how it plays, sounds, and looks.
BAUM SETUP
Every Baum is refined by hand in Denmark by our guitar tech setup team of professional musicians. Our guitar techs inspect, adjust, and play test each guitar to bring out the best of each as they know what it takes to be a performer.
-
Frets & fret ends – crowned and smoothed by hand.
-
Nut setup – inspected and cut for the optimal height and zero friction.
-
Truss rod & action – fine-tuned for the best playability.
-
Pickup height & intonation – dialed in for balanced tones and precise intonation across the neck.
-
Hardware – tested and tightened for lasting reliability.
-
Strings – we trust D’addario 10-46. Strings are replaced if needed for a fresh, consistent feel.
-
Final inspection & polish – every curve checked, every detail cleaned.
-
Play test – every Baum is played by our luthiers before shipping.
Stage-ready the moment you plug it in.

Good to know
Questions before you order?
Straight answers about preorders, payment, delivery and the home trial.
When will my guitar ship?
Look at the purchase option above the Add to cart button. In stock guitars leave Aarhus within 1-4 business days. Preorder guitars are built in a limited batch and ship in the month shown, after our team has set up and play-tested every guitar in that batch.
Preorder months are our best estimate. You can follow your batch on the production updates page, and we email you if the date moves.
Do I pay now for a preorder?
Yes. A preorder is paid when you place the order, which reserves your guitar in the batch. If you prefer to spread it out, choose Partial.ly at checkout: a down payment today and the rest in monthly instalments, all paid before the guitar ships. The exact down payment for your currency is shown on this page.
What is in the box?
This bundle ships with the Baum Deluxe Gigbag (sold on its own for €159) and a full setup by hand in Aarhus. During Black Deals '26, selected VEGA guitars also come with the Ellipse studio headphones (worth €399) or a Baum Original Strap. The box under the price shows exactly what is in the bundle for this guitar.
How does the 45 days home trial work?
We call it Try At Home. Play the guitar with your own amp, pedals and songs for 45 days. If it is not the right fit, contact us and we help arrange the return. The full terms are on the Try At Home page.
Are taxes and import duties included?
Yes. The price you see includes VAT and import duties for the countries we ship to, so there are no surprise fees when the courier arrives. Details are on the tax and import page.
Is the guitar set up before it ships?
Always. Every guitar is inspected, set up and play-tested by our team in Aarhus, Denmark. We check the fretwork, adjust the action and intonation, and make sure it feels right before it goes in the gigbag.
What is the difference between In stock, Preorder and B-Stock?
In stock: ready in Aarhus, ships in 1-4 business days.
Preorder: reserved from the next production batch, ships in the month shown.
B-Stock: a guitar with small cosmetic marks, fully set up and play-tested, usually at a lower price.
Every option gets the same setup and the same 45 days home trial.
