Crafted from a mahogany body and dark roasted maple neck with rosewood fretboard, and completed with the signature Lightning pickguard, the Thunder Bass is balanced, resonant, and feels like home in your hands.
It’s lightweight and balanced, so you can rock it during long sessions and gigs.
At its core is the Goldsound® PowerJab™ single-coil pickup. voiced for a punchy, articulate low-end - a vintage J-style warmth with modern bite. Electronics are minimal and intuitive: blend knob, master volume, and tone control let you sculpt your sound with precision. No unnecessary switches, just pure player expression.
Crowning the aesthetics are signature Thunder bolt inlays, a lightning pickguard, and Dark Moon finish with gold hardware, capturing Seye’s vibrancy and bold stage energy.

Seye Adelekan is not only a multi-instrumentalist, but a multifaceted artist. Currently playing the bass in the Gorillaz live band (since 2017) and touring with his own music as well.
Seye is also a part of the musical collective Africa Express, and has toured with/recorded with musicians such as KT Tunstall, The Noisettes, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, Emili Sandé, Birdy, Mumford and Sons, and Paloma Faith.

The J-styled pickups have an Alnico V magnet at the core, wound with a solid output to confidently bring out every note you play, and the wider spacing between the pickups gives you a warmer and more versatile tone.

The Thunder Bass features our modern C profile, which is the most popular neck profile for a reason. It’s comfortable to most players because it does it all, and it does it great.
Made of dark roasted maple with a 12″ rosewood fretboard and a satin lacquer finish.
Frets are medium jumbo giving you a balance of width and height making the Thunder Bass easier, smoother, and more fun to play all night.
PRECISE TUNING.
The Baum Precision Tuners™ for bass guitars offer a lightweight, high-precision solution with a 20:1 gear ratio for precise tuning. Their slim weight improves the balance, reducing neck dive and improves stage comfort - even during the longest sets.
These Precision Tuners, crafted with brass shafts and sealed gears, support trusty tuning and rich resonance across low-end frequencies. Designed in Denmark and exclusive to Baum.
ALWAYS IN CONTROL.
Design is also function, and the Thunder Bass brings the player a broad palette of tones by the fingertips. The knobs represent a Master Volume, Blend and Tone so you can tweak, shape and adjust the tone from articulate brights to punchy lows and always what is best for the song.
